Usage-Based Billing Terms
These Usage-Based Billing Terms (“Usage Terms”) describe how Taskploy Technologies Inc. (“Taskploy,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) charges for metered and pass-through services used through the Taskploy platform.
These Usage Terms supplement our Terms of Service, Refund and Cancellation Policy, and applicable Order Form. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms.
By enabling or using usage-based features, you agree to these Usage Terms and authorize Taskploy to charge your payment method for applicable usage fees.
1. Overview
Your core Taskploy subscription covers platform access and plan entitlements described on our Pricing page. Certain communications, telephony, and payment services depend on third-party providers and are billed separately based on actual or committed usage unless explicitly included in your plan.
Usage-based charges are in addition to subscription fees, add-on users, taxes, and other amounts due under your agreement with Taskploy.
2. Covered Usage Services
Usage-based services may include, where enabled for your plan and region:
- SMS messaging — outbound and, where supported, inbound text messages;
- Email delivery — campaign sends and delivery above plan allowances, particularly on Ultimate and Enterprise plans;
- Voice and call-center usage — outbound and inbound call minutes, call routing, and related telephony services;
- Phone numbers — provisioning, monthly number rental, and number-related fees;
- WhatsApp and other messaging channels — when launched, usage-based messaging charges as disclosed before enablement;
- Payment processing — processor fees for transactions processed through integrated payment providers; and
- Other metered services — storage overages, API overages, AI usage, or other measurable services disclosed in-product or on the Pricing page.
Availability of usage services depends on your subscription plan, enabled modules, country, and provider support.
3. Pricing and Disclosure
Current rates for usage services are published on our Pricing page, including SMS, email campaign overages, voice minutes, phone numbers, and payment processing pass-through ranges. Rates are also shown in your account before you enable a feature or incur a charge.
Indicative USD rates (subject to destination, provider and plan allowances) include:
- SMS — from $0.02 per outbound segment (US & Canada); international from $0.05;
- Email campaigns — $1.00 per 1,000 sends above plan allowances;
- Voice (US & Canada) — $0.02 per outbound minute, $0.012 per inbound minute (Twilio list + platform margin);
- Voice (Nigeria) — $0.33 per outbound minute to local numbers, $0.34 to mobile (Twilio list + platform margin);
- Voice (other international) — from $0.02 per outbound minute, varying by destination;
- Phone numbers — $2.50 per month plus a one-time setup fee for US & Canada local numbers; Nigeria local numbers $25 per month where available; and
- Payment processing — typically 1.4%–4.5% pass-through per transaction;
- WhatsApp — per delivered template message based on Telnyx and Meta published rates plus platform margin (e.g. US marketing about $0.042; Nigeria marketing about $0.08); and
- WhatsApp service replies — non-template replies within the 24-hour customer window are not billed today, subject to Meta policy changes.
Rates may vary by destination country, message type, carrier, number type, call direction, volume tier, or provider cost. We will not intentionally impose undisclosed usage fees.
Where a rate is described as pass-through or provider-based, Taskploy may add a disclosed margin or platform fee on top of the underlying provider charge.
Enterprise Customers may have custom usage rates stated in an Order Form. Those rates control over published pricing.
4. Measurement and Billing
Usage is measured using Taskploy’s systems and/or provider records. We may round usage units as disclosed (for example, per message, per minute, or per thousand emails).
Unless otherwise stated:
- usage charges accrue when the underlying service is initiated, delivered, or committed to a provider;
- usage may be billed in arrears on your regular billing cycle or when usage crosses a threshold;
- failed delivery attempts may still incur charges where a provider bills for the attempt;
- inbound messages, replies, and carrier surcharges may be billable where disclosed; and
- usage reports in your account are provided for convenience; provider records may prevail in the event of a discrepancy, subject to reasonable investigation.
5. Plan Allowances and Overages
Some plans include limited allowances for certain usage types. Allowances, if any, reset according to the schedule disclosed in your plan (typically monthly).
If you exceed an included allowance or use a metered feature not included in your plan:
- additional usage may be blocked until you upgrade, add credits, or reduce usage; or
- overages may be billed at the applicable usage rate.
We may notify administrators when usage approaches limits, but you remain responsible for monitoring usage in your account.
6. Authorization and Payment
By enabling usage-based features, you authorize Taskploy and its payment processors to charge your designated payment method for usage fees, taxes, and related amounts.
If your payment method fails, we may suspend usage-based features, restrict sending, or suspend the account until payment is received, as described in the Terms.
Usage charges are generally non-refundable once incurred. See our Refund and Cancellation Policy.
7. Third-Party Providers
Usage services often rely on telecommunications carriers, email delivery networks, payment processors, and other third parties. Their availability, pricing, routing, deliverability, and acceptable-use rules may affect your use of Taskploy features.
Taskploy is not responsible for:
- carrier filtering, blocking, or delayed delivery;
- changes in provider pricing passed through to customers after reasonable notice;
- number portability delays or regulatory restrictions;
- payment processor declines or hold policies; or
- suspension of your sending capability by a provider due to your content or compliance history.
You must comply with our Acceptable Use Policy and applicable provider requirements.
8. SMS and Messaging
SMS and similar messaging features may be available on Professional+ automations and Ultimate campaigns, as described on the Pricing page.
You are responsible for:
- obtaining required consents and registrations (including short-code or long-code compliance where applicable);
- honouring opt-out requests promptly;
- including required sender identification and help/stop language where mandated; and
- ensuring message content complies with carrier and legal requirements.
We may suspend messaging if abuse, spam complaints, or compliance violations are detected.
9. Email Delivery
Email campaign delivery may incur charges above plan allowances. Deliverability depends on list quality, content, domain reputation, and provider policies.
You must not send to purchased lists or recipients without appropriate consent. High bounce, complaint, or spam rates may result in throttling or suspension.
10. Voice and Phone Numbers
Voice and call-center features, where enabled, are billed based on usage such as minutes, calls, recordings, or transcription, as disclosed in-product.
Phone number fees may include:
- one-time provisioning charges;
- monthly rental fees per number;
- inbound and outbound usage; and
- regulatory or compliance fees imposed by providers or authorities.
Releasing a number may not entitle you to a refund of fees already incurred for the current period.
11. Payment Processing
When you accept payments through integrated processors, processor fees apply according to the processor’s schedule and any Taskploy disclosure at enablement.
Payment processing is subject to the processor’s terms, onboarding, and compliance review. Taskploy is not a payment institution and does not control processor approval or settlement timing.
12. WhatsApp and Future Channels
WhatsApp messaging is billed per delivered template message based on message category, recipient country, Telnyx platform fees, and applicable Meta rates, plus a disclosed platform margin. Indicative rates are published on our Pricing page.
Non-template service replies sent within Meta’s 24-hour customer service window are not billed at the time of writing. Meta may change service-message charging; we will provide notice where required before applying new Meta rates.
Other messaging channels may be offered as usage-based services when available. Rates, supported regions, and launch terms will be disclosed before you enable those channels.
13. AI Usage
If AI features are metered, usage may be billed by tokens, requests, or another disclosed unit. See our AI Usage Terms when AI features are enabled.
14. Price Changes
We may change usage rates to reflect provider cost changes, new regions, regulatory requirements, or product updates. Material rate changes will be communicated with reasonable notice where practicable.
Continued use of usage-based features after the effective date of updated rates constitutes acceptance of the new rates to the extent permitted by law and your agreement.
15. Disputes
If you believe a usage charge is incorrect, contact help@taskploy.com within 30 days of the invoice date with:
- your account email;
- invoice or transaction reference;
- the disputed amount and usage type; and
- supporting detail from your account reports.
We will investigate in good faith. Undisputed amounts remain due while a dispute is reviewed.
16. Taxes
Usage fees are exclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. You are responsible for taxes associated with your use of usage-based services, except where Taskploy is legally required to collect and remit them.
